Is Life (un)Affordable

What is affordable? What we think expensive might not be too expensive for some people and what is cheap for us might be luxury stuff for some others.. Define affordable then!

As for most girls, fashion and beauty come in one package. But, is fashion affordable? It is true that beauty and fashion stuffs vary from $10 (maybe cheaper if you get the made-in-ch**a ones) to thousand or even millions of dollars.. But, price never lies and it defines the quality of the products (well.. I think).. Are beauty and fashion affordable?

I do wear beauty products (Vitamin C and UV cream to protect you from Cancer are beauty products too) and I do love fashion, bold gorgeous accessories, nice leather bags, smooth silky dress, good comfortable shoes, but they all come with high-sky price.. Are they affordable then? I do sometimes buy expensive bags (Fyi, I love designer bags), but, unfortunately, I need to save for months or even years to get what I want.. Do I need to skip my hangout weekends (admit it that hanging out cost you money!) and save the money to get the It bag? Are my friends worth the sacrifice? How can I afford both my friends and fashion?

Not to mention that health is also expensive and I scream to see my dentist bill.. How about the anti-aging cream and anti-oxidant infused sport drinks and those A-to-Z vitamin pills, and high-calcium packed colostrum milk, they are expensive! Oh, and how about insurance payment, even though you call it long-term investment but you still need to put quite some money since you were like 5? And Botox when I am 40! Cost me hell..

Then again, even some guys define their dream girls by saying "how can I afford her", Sounds familiar?

Searching Happiness

One day, I watched tv and there was this talk show about searching happiness in life. The speaker said that there is only one key to happiness which is being grateful for what we have. I thought, well.. make sense. Then, the other person asked, this was the question, ”Well.. It is easy to say thank you and be grateful when we receive something nice or something good just happened, but how if it is a disaster. How can we say thank you for stuff that we don’t want, for things that annoy us?”
The speaker was smiling. I was curious, what his answer is gonna be. Then the speaker give some illustration, he started by saying, “The things we have in this worlds are just stuff that we borrow from God, so we need to be ready anytime He wants them back.”
He continued,”For instance, your neighbor have two cars. One day, your neighbor plan to go abroad for a month and your neighbor lending you his car since your car is broken from the accident you had last week. And, how you feel? Of course we are super happy, right? (Especially if it’s the new BMW 5series). You will tell your neighbor that you are thankful and you will take good care of his car.”
“Then, a month later, your neighbor is back. You welcome him back, you also give him back the car key and again you say thank you because he lend you his car and you did drove carefully and you even fill the gas back.”
“The point of this story is that what we have is like that car. Things are lent to us and one day those stuffs will be taken back.” The Speaker then again continued while the audience was listening in silence because the way he illustrated it was so clear and amazing. “Being super happy in our life is as simple as that. Be thankful and take a good and positive lesson from whatever happens in our life.”
